Blogs and Blog Readers

1. I decided to use Feedly as my Blog Reader over the others because I found it to be the most easiest to manipulate and organize my blogs and articles. I did not have any trouble creating boards and adding articles I thought would be of use to me. It was also very easy to navigate.

2. Five blogs I chose to follow and why:

Library Learners:  http://librarylearners.com/  followed this blog because it had book recommendations, how to manage the library classroom, gives ideas on reading picture books, and ideas to meet the goal for scholastic fundraising.
   - recommended books
   - classroom management
   - ideas for reading picture books
   - scholastic fundraising ideas

Library Displays:  http://schoollibrarydisplays.blogspot.com/  I followed this blog because it has great ideas on decorating and holiday display.

School Library Journal: http://www.slj.com/  I followed this blog because it gives information on book reviews and the school librarian of the year.

Library of Congress: http://blogs.loc.gov/loc/  followed Library of Congress blog because it displays many books that go back in history and the National book festival poster with information on the event.

  1. Library Displays is also one of my favorite. I am the type of person who likes making things look pretty and inviting but when it comes time to execute ideas my artsy cutsy side is non-existing.

I want my library to be inviting and fun to be part of. The ideas listed there are great!

  2. Like Josie, Library Displays is one of my favorite blogs as well because it provides different ideas on how to decorate a library or a classroom.

Personally, I love to decorate and organize my classroom in a way that my students feel comfortable. I always try to make it cozy and inviting, so this blog is definitely a great help for me!

  3. Thank you for sharing the Library Learner's Blog. I really enjoyed looking over it. I found a lot of useful ideas I plan to incorporate in my own library. I liked the PowToon video for library orientation and the ideas they provided on taming the shelving monster which incorporates great ways to get the school community involved in helping out at the library.
